It has been a tough six months, for governments, businesses, and society alike. The lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in widespread uncertainty, anxiety and hardship, which many people felt ill-equipped to deal with. It’s perhaps no wonder that community energy groups, well used to working together under challenging circumstances, stepped into the gap and pulled together for the sake of local residents.
As the CEE State of the Sector 2020 report highlighted, community energy is about far more than clean energy. It’s also about revitalising neighbourhoods, ensuring fairer access to fuel, and building community resilience – and these will be more crucial than ever as we face a tumultuous future rebuilding from the pandemic and tackling the climate emergency.
This has reinforced our belief in the value of PowerPaired as a tool to connect community energy groups with owners of much-needed sites and assets. Asset owner outreach has always been a tricky and time consuming task, and by helping to ease the process, we hope to support the community energy sector in fulfilling its potential to transform the energy landscape and accelerate the UK’s progress towards net zero carbon emissions.
To this end, we would like to seek your assistance in filling out a short survey we have launched during Community Energy Fortnight.
