PowerPaired is a new, free online platform which provides a matchmaking service to bring together community energy groups and the owners of sites with potential for renewable energy generation.

Our aim is to increase the number of community owned renewable energy projects in the UK – helping communities to take control of the way their energy is generated, saving money and tackling climate change at the same time – by making it as easy as possible for projects to get off the ground.

As well as matchmaking, we are working with our partner Pure Leapfrog to provide assistance around many common obstacles, such as providing legal templates and other vital resources for asset owners and community energy groups.

Created by sustainability NGO Forum for the Future, over 100 assets are already on offer from organisations such as the National Grid alongside churches, schools, offices and other sites across the UK that could potentially host a community-owned renewable energy project.

PowerPaired is generously supported by the GLA (Greater London Authority), Friends Provident Foundation and the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery through the Postcode Earth trust.
